About Exitdex
Exitdex is a directory of real-life escape rooms across Europe. It helps you find venues and rooms near you or in the city you are visiting, in eight languages. We do not sell tickets or take bookings; every listing links to the venue itself.
Where the data comes from
Listings are compiled from openly licensed databases and from the venues' own public websites. Map and address data come from OpenStreetMap contributors, structured facts about cities partly from Wikidata, and top-room rankings from the Top Escape Rooms Project (TERPECA). Room details such as themes, player counts and prices are read from the operators' own sites.
How listings are verified
We regularly check every venue website automatically. When a site stops responding over repeated checks, the venue is marked as possibly closed and drops out of the browse lists instead of being silently deleted. Room details extracted from operator sites are only published above a confidence threshold; uncertain data is held back for manual review.
What the marks mean
A few symbols appear throughout the site:
- A star with a year and rank marks a venue with a room ranked in that year's Top Escape Rooms Project awards, an international vote by experienced players.
- Ratings from 1 to 5 come from signed-in visitors of this site. Every rating traces to an account; anonymous ratings are not accepted.
- A "possibly closed" notice means the venue website has stopped responding to our checks. The venue may still operate; we keep the page until this is settled.
Corrections
Every venue page has a form for suggesting corrections, and venue owners can use the same form to claim their listing. A person reads every submission. You can also contact us directly.
Who is behind it
Exitdex is built and run by a small independent team in Norway. The operating company is stated in the legal notice.
