Privacy & cookie policy
This page explains what data Exitdex processes, which cookies we set, and your rights under the GDPR.
Who we are
Exitdex is an online directory of escape rooms across Europe. We help you discover venues and rooms; we do not sell tickets or process payments.
What data we process
- Language preference: a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) stores your chosen language so the site is shown in it on your next visit.
- Optional Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We use this only to operate your account and do not share it with third parties. Signing in is entirely optional.
- Server logs: like most websites, our servers briefly record technical data (IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps) to keep the site secure and diagnose problems.
Cookies
We set no analytics or marketing cookies. The cookies we use are:
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your language preference (strictly necessary). | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| er_consent | Stores your cookie consent decision (strictly necessary). | 180 days |
| next-auth.session-token, next-auth.csrf-token, next-auth.callback-url | Keep you signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery. Only set when you sign in. | Up to 30 days; only when signed in |
Data sources
Venue data is derived from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and is available under the Open Database License (ODbL). See openstreetmap.org/copyright
